Mission of Friends of Bozeman Fencing Association

The Mission of the FBFA is to provide support to the athletes of Bozeman Fencing Association by improving the quantity and quality of fencing opportunities in Bozeman, Montana and surrounding areas.

Friends of Bozeman Fencing Association is a Montana non-profit organization under Montana law (15-31-102(1), MCA) operating under the fiscal sponsorship of Montana Development Partners, a non-profit exempt under 501 (c)(3). EIN 81-0495720.

Goals for 2018-2019

Key barriers to the development of fencing in Bozeman are the cost of equipment and cost of travel for competition and training at other centers of fencing excellence. Your support will provide opportunities for new fencers and help support competitive BFA athletes.

With your help, in the 2018-2019 season, FBFA will

  • Sponsor an annual development clinic in Bozeman with national or Olympic level coaches

  • Provide need-based scholarships for travel and tournament fees at National and Regional events

  • Provide need-based scholarships to four LDP, competition, beginning or intermediate youth fencers

  • Purchase two grounded Olympic regulation floor strips (fencing pistes)
